This deep mahogany whisky began its journey in sherry seasoned European Oak casks (two of them) and was concluded in an Oloroso Sherry butt for a further three years, to achieve the intentional depth of character which defines Bowmore.
What Makes It Special?
The 1970s were a fantastic decade for Bowmore under the ownership of Stanley P Morrison since 1963, one of Glasgow’s most well-known whisky brokers. During this time, new equipment were installed which ensured the quality and reputation of Bowmore’s spirit.
This ultimate Bowmore distilled in 1971 brings a truly multifaceted whisky which embodies the aged union between spirit and oak.
