Single Cask Nation, founded by Joshua Hatton and Jason Johnstone-Yellin, is one of the most exciting and important independent bottlers in the Untied States. The company was recently acquired by Artisanal Spirits Company, the same parent company that owns SMWS (Scotch Malt Whisky Society), making SCN and SMWS sister-companies now. It also means that SCN now has access to ASC’s huge library of casks — a game changer in a world where most independent bottlers are finding it harder and harder to source great casks. Here at DRINQY, we’re proud to carry the SCN line, which has just released these, their March 2024 retail line.

This distillery located in Charleston, South Carolina is doing something we’d like to see more distilleries do — creating new and original flavors with their spirits. As they say, what’s the point of trying to “Out-Makers Mark Makers Mark”? Founders Scott Blackwell and Ann Marshall are foodies at heart, so they started with the ingredients, eventually settling on an unusual 100% red corn varietal for their bourbon from nearby James Island that had nearly gone extinct. For their rye, they settled on a 100% Abruzzi rye mash bill, which features significantly less starch (and so arguably more flavor!) than conventional rye varietals used to make whiskey today. The results are plain to see — extraordinarily flavorful spirits that are truly originals, and we’re proud to carry their entire line.

This is in addition to two cask strength single barrel picks of Jimmy Red, but they are only available to Members of Drammers Club.

Empirical, which started in Copenhagen in 2017 and prefers to be called a "flavor company" rather than a distillery, makes some of the most unusual, creative spirits in the world, and they are hugely respected.  In NYC, for example, almost every single top-rated cocktail bar and a lot of the Michelin restaurants have cocktails built around Empirical's expressions (Eleven Madison Park, Dead Rabbit, Death & Co, Double Chicken Please, Cosme, Temple Bar, Martiny's, PDT, etc. etc. - the list is stunning.). DRINQY is proud to bring you their entire range of available expressions.

And yes, we have some bottles of the Doritos spirit, but they are only available to Members of Drammers Club.

Broken Barrel uses an innovative strategy centered on using a range of barrel staves to mature their whiskies. They experiment with different variations of barrel staves, which they call their “Oak Bill” — they argue it’s as important as a mash bill given how big an impact barrels have on the flavor of a whiskey. The results are impressive.

Emilio Vieyra is the 6th generation mezcalero in the Vieyra family, and was the first to have a certified mezcal in the state of Michoacan. Most of our mezcal exploration to date has been in the state of Oaxaca, where the overwhelming majority of mezcal is made, but Michoacan also has a rich tradition of making mezcal. We had the pleasure of traveling down to Morelia to meet with the Maestro and the Don Mateo team last March, and we’re very proud to offer their full line here.

We’re huge fans of this New Orleans Distillery, which seeks to create “liquid art”. The name means “Spirits Studio” — combining the French word for studio (“Atelier”) with the “vie” of l’eau de vie for spirits. From hopped distillates to rice whiskies, exquisite rums, gins and more, this is a distillery to keep an eye on.
