BRUICHLADDICH - 17yo 2nd Fill Syrah
Exclusive Single Cask Selected by Drammers Club and Allview Liquors
Well, this is a very exciting moment. Our first ever single cask pick from Bruichladdich, which we were proud to do with our friends Justin and the team at Allview Liquor in Baltimore. To say this is rare is a crazy understatement. Our understanding is that Bruichladdich has never previously agreed to do a single barrel pick in the US, and only recently decided to set aside 5 single barrels. We’re enormously proud to have been given the opportunity to select one of them. The options were hand-picked by their Master Blender Adam Hannett, and we fell in love with this one, which my understanding is was the oldest of the 5 single barrels that will come to the US. Aged for all 17 years in a 2nd fill syrah cask (Syrah wine casks are from Rhône, France — Syrah is a red wine renowned for being bold and full-bodied, imparting flavours of rich red fruit notes and delicate spice to the final single malt whisky). Bruichladdich has been pioneering the use of these casks with ultra-limited, mostly distillery-exclusive releases.
