From the Distillery: Little Rest is the name of a road just around the corner from our farm. It derives its name from an innovative farmer who realized that the large hill just south of the road he lived on was grueling for the horses and wagons who had already traveled a great distance. He offered his own horses at the bottom of the hill to help the team up to the top where he would then provide them with a little rest of water (for the horses) and beverage (for the farmers). We were drawn to this name because it’s a good story, and because we are making Little Rest Whisky in the hopes of providing a “little rest” for you. Take some time for yourself. Time to sit back and be grateful for all that you have, and to appreciate all those that have helped you up your latest hill.
