From the Brand: A fresh-faced, zesty whisky with a natural golden amber colour direct from the cask. Spicy but mellow, with subtle smoke on the finish, it’s a great introduction to the unique warmth of Orkney heathered peat—and the convivial spirit of our island home. To create the well-rounded character of the 12 year old, we harmonise whiskies matured in hand-selected, first-fill, sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks, which together deliver its main flavour profile of spicy-sweetness and mellow warmth. Additional refill casks round out the powerful notes from the first-fill casks, resulting in a classic, versatile whisky that’s always finely balanced. We first launched Highland Park 12 in the 1970s, as the first whisky in our core range. It’s since become a fixture in the local pubs in Orkney—where it’s now as much a part of daily life as fishing, farming and doing your best to stay upright in our bracing winds.
