From the Distillery: Think you’ve tried it all? Think again. This is the bourbon drinker’s rye whiskey. We craft Wilderness Trail Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey with a custom mashbill for a broader balance of flavor. We use a relatively low rye percentage for a rye whiskey and offset the spice of the rye grain with sweetness from a relatively high percentage of corn. Our rye also enters the barrel among the lowest entry proof we’ve encountered in Kentucky (100-105), highlighting the distillate’s nuance. Mashbill: 56% rye / 33% corn / 11% malted barley.
