The barrel features an unusual experimental mixture of two different mashes / distillations. One of the mashes was made from corn grown at the Clemson Agricultural Extension farm and used Avante wine yeast for fermentation. The other mash was made from corn grown at Lavington Farms and used High Wire’s flagship yeast strain which is a distiller's yeast.  Both of these mashes were distilled in August of 2018 and the barrels filled in the same month. This barrel features a combination of the two — half of the barrel was filled finishing up the avante/clemson batch and then it was filled the rest of the way with the distilling yeast/lavington batch. The result is spectacular. Entry proof was 109.7.
